How We Turn Your Tech Stack Into a Deal Machine

We do not sell software. We do not push platforms. We map your deal workflow from origination through exit, find every point where technology is slowing you down, and fix it systematically. The entire process runs in 90 days or less because PE firms do not have time for twelve-month IT projects. Here is exactly how it works.

Start with a Strategic Debrief

Phase 01

Strategic Debrief

1-2 days

Everything starts with a no-cost working session. This is not a sales call disguised as a consultation. It is a focused, structured conversation where we sit down with your deal team and operations leaders to understand how your firm actually works day to day. We map your current technology stack, identify the tools you use, the ones you pay for but ignore, and the gaps where manual processes fill in for missing integrations.

By the end of the debrief, you will have a clear picture of your three to five highest-impact friction points and a preliminary view of what fixing them looks like. Most firms tell us this session alone gives them more clarity on their technology situation than anything they have done internally. If you decide to move forward, we already have the foundation. If you do not, you walk away with actionable insights you can implement on your own.

  • Map current state of all deal-related technology and workflows
  • Identify quick wins that can be implemented immediately
  • Deliver preliminary assessment with no obligation to continue

Phase 02

Deep Assessment

1-2 weeks

Once you decide to engage, we go deep. Our team maps every workflow from deal origination to exit, documenting each system touchpoint, every manual handoff, and the actual time spent on each step. We interview team members across the firm because the view from the managing partner's office rarely matches the reality at the analyst level. This is where hidden inefficiencies surface.

We conduct a full technology audit covering every software license, every integration (or lack thereof), and every shadow IT tool your team has adopted on their own. We measure actual utilization against what you are paying for. We benchmark your stack against best-in-class firms in your strategy and AUM range. The output is a detailed gap analysis showing exactly where your technology is holding you back and what closing each gap is worth in recovered time and reduced cost.

The assessment also covers security and compliance posture. We identify access control gaps, data handling risks, and the distance between your current state and SOC 2 or similar compliance standards your LPs may require.

  • Full workflow mapping from origination through exit
  • Technology audit with license utilization analysis
  • Gap analysis with prioritized recommendations and ROI estimates

Phase 03

Build & Integrate

4-6 weeks

This is where the assessment turns into results. We start with the quick wins identified in Phase 02 so your team sees immediate improvements while we work on the larger structural changes. System connections come first. We integrate your CRM with your data room, connect your cap table software to your portfolio dashboard, and build the data bridges that eliminate manual re-entry across platforms.

Workflow automation runs in parallel. We configure automated CIM intake and processing, build IC memo templates that pull data directly from your connected systems, and set up deal pipeline dashboards that update in real time instead of requiring weekly manual refreshes. Every automation is built to your firm's specific processes, not a generic template.

Security hardening happens throughout this phase. We implement proper access controls, configure SSO where supported, establish offboarding protocols, and set up audit trails. If SOC 2 compliance is on your roadmap, we lay the groundwork here. We also address the software waste problem by decommissioning redundant tools and right-sizing licenses based on actual usage data from the assessment.

  • System connections and API integrations across your deal stack
  • Workflow automation for CIM processing, IC memos, and reporting
  • Real-time dashboards for deal pipeline and portfolio health
  • Security hardening, access controls, and compliance groundwork

Phase 04

Optimize & Scale

Ongoing

Technology is not a one-time project. Your firm evolves, your deal flow changes, new tools emerge, and the systems we build need to evolve with you. Phase 04 is our ongoing partnership where we ensure everything continues to run and improve. We start with hands-on training so your team actually adopts the new workflows, not just the tools. Adoption is where most technology projects fail, and we treat it as a critical deliverable, not an afterthought.

Quarterly reviews let us measure what is working, identify new friction points that have emerged, and adjust the system to match how your firm is actually using it. We monitor software utilization to prevent the license bloat from returning. We stay current on new capabilities in your existing tools so you capture value from vendor updates without adding new platforms. And when your firm grows, whether through increased deal volume, new funds, or new investment strategies, we scale the systems to match.

  • Team training and adoption support to ensure real usage
  • Quarterly performance reviews and system fine-tuning
  • Ongoing license monitoring to prevent software waste recurrence
  • Continuous improvement as your firm and the market evolve

What Makes Us Different

There are plenty of IT consultancies. Here is why PE and M&A firms choose to work with us instead.

Platform-Agnostic

We do not resell software and we do not get commissions from vendors. DealCloud, Salesforce, Affinity, HubSpot, Carta, Allvue, iLevel -- we work with whatever you have and whatever makes sense for your firm. Our recommendations are driven entirely by what solves your problem, not by what generates revenue for a software partner. That independence is why our clients trust our assessments. You can explore the tools we work with to see the breadth of our platform expertise.

Optimize Before Replacing

Most firms are using 30% to 40% of the capability in tools they already own. Before we recommend buying anything new, we exhaust what your existing stack can do. That means configuring features you did not know existed, building integrations between tools that were never connected, and training your team on capabilities they have been working around. It is faster, cheaper, and less disruptive than ripping and replacing.

Conservative Approach

We do not push bleeding-edge solutions on firms that need reliability above all else. Deal flow cannot stop for a system migration. Portfolio reporting cannot go dark during an integration project. Every change we make is staged, tested, and rolled back if it does not work. We operate with the same risk discipline that PE firms apply to their investments. Stability comes first. Innovation comes second.

PE & M&A Exclusive Focus

We do not consult for law firms, hospitals, or retail chains. Every engagement we take is in private equity, venture capital, or M&A advisory. That focus means we understand deal lifecycle workflows intimately. We know why your IC memo process is different from your competitor's. We know what LPs ask about during operational due diligence. We speak your language because it is the only language we speak. Read more about the specific challenges we solve every day.

Ready to Fix Your Tech Stack?

The Strategic Debrief is the starting point. A focused, no-cost working session where we map your current technology, identify the highest-value improvements, and give you a clear 90-day roadmap. No pitch deck, no pressure, and no obligation to continue. Most firms tell us the debrief alone is the most useful technology conversation they have had.
